Snippet & Ink

Kathryn of Snippet and Ink is the most definitely the queen bee when it comes to inspiration boards, but I thought these two were especially nice.

I want to go to there

I just read about this exhibit in New York--which is so for me! Too bad, I won't be in NY anytime soon..

Wall Stories: Children's wallpaper and Books

What do Cinderella, Peter Rabbit, Popeye, Mickey Mouse and Goofy, Winnie-the-Pooh, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Pinocchio have in common? They are among the dozens of beloved children’s story characters that can be found in Wall Stories: Children’s Wallpaper and Books, an exhibition which plumbs the holdings of Cooper-Hewitt’s Wallcoverings department—the largest such collection in the United States, with more than ten thousand objects dating from the seventeenth through the twenty-first centuries—and the Museum’s 70,000-volume National Design Library.

It runs through the first of April.

Vacation!

I'm out of town this week, so sorry if the posts are a little light! We'll be back to our regular schedule next week!

circus paper

My house has a very wee walk in closet that currently has some sort of iridescent flowery circa1982 wallpaper in it (hideous). I think it would be much more fun in the morning to see this Circus wallpaper from Porters Paints. The red though, not the blue. With maybe 2 walls of stripes so it looks like the room is super long.

Sushi Comfort

Is the economy getting you down? You don't have any $$ to get your sushi fix? Try knitting some instead! You won't get to eat it, but at least you can have a little sushi comfort.

Get the pattern at NeedleNoodles shop!

We are the friendly type..

So, have you joined the Facebook revolution? We have too! Come by our fanpage and say Hello!
Oh, and I was thinking about getting the above fabric and making a Rehearsal dinner dress out of it--won't that be cute?

Just a small hair accesssory

I saw these on Capture the Castle, and just thought they were so pretty. Of course I am a sucker for poofy hair and big hair accessories.

blog to blog: The Tea Drinking English Rose

I found a very pretty little blog, The Tea Drinking English Rose. The best part? The music played on the blog (which normally i find incredibly annoying) is Mary Poppins. Ha! I'm a geek!

Weekend getaway

I wish I could say that I shot these pics over the weekend while I was in Palm Springs staying at the Parker, but that was not to be. However, I did find a lovely little blog (where I got the pic) which I enjoyed visiting this weekend...Thanks, Alice Q. Style!

Kdog V-day photobooth

Hey, check out what our friends over at Kdog Photographers are doing tomorrow...

Come by the studio for a quickie with your Valentine!

The studio will be open from 10am to 2pm tomorrow --Valentine's Day -- for walk-in portraits (remember to hit our buzzer). Bring your loved ones for a free quickie session then log-on to our website and enter the password: Vday to view and order your photos. Special event pricing applies; photos starting at $20.

And, if you get your pic taken at Kdog, you can get 10% off at bon bon--how awesome is that? We love you Kdog!

Kdog is just 2 doors down from us at 300 Westport Rd....

Cup O' Chocolate please!

I thought I would end the week with this delicious recipe from Anne @ The City Sage (whose blog by the way = spectacular) Anyway, if you haven't come to my store and bought all of your Valentine's goodies then you might be panicking, in which case, maybe this recipe for Chocolate Mousse might come in handy....
To see the recipe, visit Bloom.acious

Flower Grouping

I'm not normally a Vase o' flowers painting kind of girl, but I like these groupings. I would like to see a wall covered floor to ceiling with very little space in between. Maybe in an office room, so when you are working you are always surrounded by a garden (of sorts)?

Centerpiece

See that plant on the right there? That is a succulent. I think they are adorable. Now--picture this, what if we put that sweet little plant in a teacup (with maybe one or two fresh flowers) and put a bunch of filled teacups on a cake plate as a centerpiece. Anybody else think that would be adorable?

Paper Valise

Paper Valise is a website that makes me want to make something. Sadly, i don't know what, but if I did, I would sure buy them out. If you think of something, let me know! Until then, I am putting this website in my favorites!

I love paper goods

If only I had a need for labels, I would go crazy at Everyjotandtittle on Etsy!

Ahh, candy colored labels, I love you!

Vday display

Here are some of V-day displays going on in the store at the moment...
Gold tree w/ red tissue flowers. By the way I know LOVE making tissue paper flowers. As for painting trees gold? Well, let's just say some brain cells were lost during the making of this lovely tree (i.e. don't paint with enamel in a closed space)
Our antique brooch tree that is pushing it's way out of the birdcage.

A larger pic--sorry they are so dark, it's hard getting good pics in front of a really bright window.
Personal favorite alert! We put Andrea's vases w/ E's flowers in an old jewelry case so it looks like they are a museum exhibit. It's awesome in person.

Mmm conversation hearts!
