Scarf Spree

I went on a bit of a scarf spree last week. 3 Liberty's and 2 Cath Kidston's..after that I managed to get a hold of myself (even though I had a very strong urge to go back to Liberty to get the three pack of hankies that they had). I just love them though. They are the perfect size for tying around the neck, and so soft!

Yuwa Fabrics

 Here are the new Yuwa Japanese prints! The grey and the brown are designed by the fabulous Yoshiko Jinzenji (quilter extraordinaire!) The pictures don't do them justice, they are amazing in person...

Today's Big Deal: Haunted Mansion Ball Tickets!

I'm busy today installing our new Halloween window. I'm hoping my plan for it works..sometimes things just don't turn out like I think they will! Of course, I'm inspired by the Haunted Mansion Costume Ball which is October 15th. And here is a little tip, tickets to the ball are on the Pitch's Big Deal for this week! So, be sure to get your tickets, since they are discounted!

Welcome back with fabric

Hello, we are finally back from our lovely vacation! If you haven't been on holiday for a while, then let me take a moment to tell you to pack up and go, since vacations are great!.We've come back to a long list of work to do for the store, but our mom did a great job holding down the fort while we were away. Thanks mom!

I love walking into the store and seeing fresh new things. While we were away there were a bunch of fabric shipments. Here is the first installation;
Some gorgeous Kaffe Fasset's in honor of his visiting KC next month.

Some great Joel Dewberry prints that I think will be popular as accompaniment pieces.

And the fun world of Tina Given's Pernilla's Journey..with elephants!

Check back tomorrow for pics of the new Japanese fabrics we received..and get ready because vacation pics are coming!

Maison Lesage

NPR did a great story last week about Maison Lesage, a couture embroidery studio in Paris. Here is  a link to the article, and the interview is definitely worth a listen as well.

Amy Butler knits

Looks like Amy Butler is dipping her toe in yarn-land.
I think she is slowly taking over the world.
Won't it be pretty when she's done?

How about a roundup!
A few lovelies from Anthro...

A couple of clever cardies from The Limited

And some jolly jumpers from TopShop

I love sweater season! Not looking forward to Parka season however...

The blog will be a little quiet for a bit while E & I revel in our Anglomania.

There will be a few nuggets of entertainment though, so keep an eye out...

Saturday Sale!

The Westport Art fair is this weekend and we are celebrating by having a wee bit of a sale on Saturday. Come in the store for 15% off garment fabric (which includes our organic lines and Liberty) and Cascade yarn!

Hooray sale!

Wool Modern

 I'm excited to go to the Wool Modern exhibit in London next week. The exhibit "focuses on the modern, innovative and avant garde use of wool throughout creative industries." With a list of exhibitors including Alexander McQueen, Vivianne Westwood, Lanvin and Galliano (among many others), I fully expect it to be an amazing experience.

Hopefully we will come back inspired and ready to share new projects with you!

Each of the bags are one of a kind pieces and will be auctioned off starting September 20th, the benefits going to charity. The collection will be on display at Harvey Nichols through this month. PJ20 fun!

J and I had an especially fun Labor Day weekend. It involved;

Gazing at George Harrison's son (Beatle child!)

Watching out for jumping musicians

Graffiti installation art

2 super fun concerts

And, strangely enough, a Dennis Rodman sighting. (That picture didn't turn out)
