Jeannie's bottle

So, I saw this pic over on City Sage and what was the first thing I thought about?
I dream of Jeannie! Isn't it like Jeannie's super cool apartment inside the bottle?? Oh, all that pink and gold and cushions everywhere--it was a very plush bottle..
I love this picture of them filming inside the bottle--but what's with those cushions? they look they were taken out of the dumpster..

Ferris

Aren't Ferris wheels lovely? I love the thought of Ferris wheels, such a lovely gentle ride. However when I was in one last month that wheel moved super fast and it was a wee bit terrifying. I won't have learned my lesson though, and will always be willing to give it a go. Anyway, that is not the point of the post, the point is there is a lovely Flickr group called Ferris Wheel Love where you can go and look at dreamy pics of lovely rides..

This pic is from Simply Hue..

Stella for shorties

So, for those of you who don't know..I am short. Not like weirdly short, but only 5 feet tall (although, sometimes more depending on how fluffy my hair is) Anyway there are disadvantages to being short--I can never see at concerts, always have to use a stool to reach high things, etc. but there is one advantage-- I can fit into children's clothes. So, on November 2nd when Gap kids debuts the Stella McCartney collection, I will the redhead elbowing all the kids out of the way to grab my size.

Anyone else want to push kids out of the way with me? Dibs on the size 12 black military jacket...

Lula

I got the new Lula last weekend. I gave it a cursory flip through and then made myself stop. I am waiting for the perfect Lula day to read it (after all, they only come out twice a year--I can't waste my first read!). After I got it I wandered on over to the Lula website and what a surprise! It's a whole new Lula world, and although you can't flip through back issues anymore, there is a scrapbook blog-like section full of loveliness.

By the way, in my Lula library, I am missing issues 1, 2 & 3. I've looked on ebay, where people are selling them (or at least trying to) for $250! I'm all for buying the back issues if anyone has them for sale, but yowza! Anyway, if you do have some , let me know!

The Wombat regrets..

Ok, so perhaps it is a little mean to make fun of the stuff that people make. But, I myself have made some doozies in the past and I always find it funny. So, if you've got a little time to spare, Regretsy will entertain you...

In the meantime here is a super cute picture of a wombat. Thanks Cute Overload!

Goodbye to Boobs

So, I realized that it is Breast Cancer awareness month, and I have put nary a pink ribbon or cupcake on the blog all month. So, I'll do better than that. Instead I'm going to put a link to a fabulously witty blog called Goodbye to Boobs, written by a BRCA2 gene previvor. What is that? Well, to find out you should go read all about it....

Photobooth!

Photobooths at weddings are totally the way to go. People do goofy things that are marked for posterity..

So sleeepy..

Who did all these great pictures, you ask? Well-these two--Philip and Rachel from Kdog (and Doug of course, I'll have to find a pic of him too!) Here they are taking a much needed break!

Fancy Dress party

Here we are, all dressed up in our Sunday best...

Fabulous flowers by Emily Jungden!
E all dressed up in vintage--my aunt thought she looked like Loretta Young.

We did the ceremony outside in front of this floral background I made.
J looking like a secret agent

E made me an awesome garter out of Liberty Fabric!!

Decor

Here are decor pics from the wedding...starting with the absolutely delicious cupcakes from Dolce'. And cake. Delicious raspberry filled/frosted cake. They were so good. Really good. I really want one right now.

The pompom flowers/thread centerpieces were on the cocktail tables outside. E made all the pompom flowers--way to go e!
We had four of these flower/lantern thingys hanging from the ceiling. I hope I don't have to make another paper flower again for a while...
The centerpieces inside were cake plates with a variety of vases/flowers on them and teacups with succulents. Surrounded by pinwheels of course!

Nancy Drew

So, this morning I had to get up extra early because I had to move my car for J to get out and go to work. So, instead of going straight back to bed (which I would normally do, and then be super-extra late) I just lounged on the couch watching Nancy Drew.

Now, I did, I admit, maybe have a curiosity for it when it came out a couple of years ago, but I never got around to watching it. The movie is fine--about what you would expect--but her clothes are adorable! I could hardly eat my Capt. Crunchberries because I couldn't tear my eyes away from her flippy skirts, knee socks and coats. And she had great trousers. My head tells me that I shouldn't take my clothing inspiration from a movie targeted to pre-teens, but my heart says Pleated Skirts! Trench Coats! Adorable brooches that double as a magnifying glass! And you know my weakness for knee socks....
