Gucci circa '95

So, a couple of weeks ago Mrs. Blandings took a reader poll asking the question: What are some of the most significant design moments of the last 20 years? I have to admit (although I got all distracted and forgot to comment) that, out of the blue, the first thing I thought of was Tom Ford's work at Gucci. I feel like the ad campaigns from those first few seasons are seared on my brain, they were just such a shot in the dark. Oooh, how I still yearn for those velvet pants and patent boots.

I was very glad to see that others thought the same. Check out what else they said here. And what do you think?
Total babe + incredibly talented = Tom Ford. Doesn't that just take the cake?

Tom Ford is a god. Did you see "A Single Man"? Every frame of that film looked like an exquisite print ad!
