Green Thumb

Last week e and I made an ill-advised stop at the hardware store. We went so I could get a sprinkler to water my vegetable garden. We came away with no sprinkler but a whole slew of new flowers. Needless to say, I've been spending time in the yard. More so than I've ever done before. I think our backyard might actually look nice this summer!

We have nasturtiums
Impatiens, geraniums and Cannas in pots. (With mulch waiting in the background)
My veg garden that I planted last month..we had our first crop of lettuce this week! (by the way, am I the only veg gardener who has difficulty knowing what is planted and what is a weed??)
And an actual flower bed. Dug, planted and bordered.
Now, if only I can get the neighborhood cats to stop using it as their Port-A-Potty, then life would be sweet.

no you aren't! we have planted some carrots and apparently there is a weed that looks just like carrots so for the time being we are just letting them grow together. we have read all the books in the world about organic gardening but i guess some things you have to learn the hard way :-)
