Rebecca Thuss

So, I feel like every blog lately has been giving Rebecca Thuss love--and quite rightly, if I do say so! Go to her website and take a look at her portfolio--from her weddings, to her flowers, to her fashion shoots, she is obviously one of those people who have a perfect styling eye (oh, that I could be one of those people!) The following pics are in her "recent" section, and I am soo taken by them, especially the flower archway. I sense a new project coming up!

Wedding Hive

So, I wanted to post some pictures from that Wedding Hive event we did last week, which was awesome! I have to say a Kudos to the Wedding Hive planners, you did a great job, and there were a ton of people there! The event was at Californo's in their event space, which used to be an old Trolley station, so it is really cool. There would have been more photos, if yours truly hadn't had her camera set to video. I know, I'm a dink.

Morrocan Lace Floor

I love this painted cement floor found over on My Marrakesh. She had the Royal Design Studio come out and spiff up her place (which, by the way hardly needs any spiffing, it is gorgeous!) and this is the floor in her daughter's room. I covet this, but I also know that I would ruin it with scratches and mess. Sigh.

A cat in a sunny spot on a beautiful floor? What more could there be in life?

So, apparently I have been living under a rock this month as I just found out that one of my favorite wedding blogs, Elizabeth Anne Designs has chosen us for their blog O' the month! Isn't that the coolest thing ever? EAD has the best info on wedding stuff, especially great little DIY projects and I love to see their ideas for invitations and stationary ( of course that could be because I'm trying to figure that out right now and need all the ideas I can find!) Cath Kidston is the best. Why? Because look at how cute her thread and sewing baskets are. I want! But, would you like to know the real hero of the story? The Vintage Magpie's brother, who bought this for her for Christmas. Well done, sir!

I love headpiece thingys. These are done by Thelma Design I like the way they are A: Huge and B: More of a crazy ruffle than a flower. Not that I don't like flower things for the hair, but these are a little more interesting. Don't you think?

Ok, so I made the mistake of visiting the Laduree site after doing the last post. Oh, look at these beautiful treats! I would like to live in a room surrounded by them. I don't even have to eat them, just be able to look at them!

Wedding Hive

We will be participating in the the Wedding Hive's indie wedding fair taking place this Thurs. the 22nd at Californos! The event will be super fun for those in the midst of wedding planning, and also those who just want to come look at all the goods! And of course there will be free champagne and appetizers, so that's worth the trip alone.

what I wouldn't give...

This room is a slice of heaven. Carved out of a Basement! And not a new-house fancy finished basement, but a real one with leaks and chipping paint (i.e., the kind I will always have). I would love to have this room. Someday I assume J and I will actually buy a house, or at least move to a new one. There will be a room that can turn into this in that house, I can promise you that!

Orla At Target!

Ooh, I was just reading Decor8 and found out that Orla Kiely did a whole line for Target! Aiee! It's available Feb 1st and she designed a whole load of ranges. How much will I need as a Spring-is-coming perk up? A lot, so be careful if you are in my way at Tarjay Feb 1st, I may have to break out the elbows.

Resolutions

How is it the 13Th of January already? Last week we were embarking The First Month of the New Year, and it was open to possibilities. Now it is practically the middle of the month! Has anyone started the New Year's resolutions yet? Has anyone given them up?

One of J's resolutions is for us to spend time at the lovely art museums here in town. We went to the Nelson Atkins last week and he has become enamored of the work by Robert and Shana Parkharrison -- which is pretty awesome. For those in town, there is a small exhibition (free) in the Bloch Building at the N.A.
