New Digs
Isn't this a sweet little house? Can't you picture it with flowers going up the walk and a swing on the porch? Well, I have big ideas for it, so it's a good thing that it's all mine! (and J's) We signed the papers yesterday and are officially new home owners. Which is fun and horrifying at the same time. Let the decorating begin!

Kdog
We got our engagement pics done last week by Kdog Photographers and they turned out awesome! Thanks Kdog you rock!!
Twiggy
So the other day I watched a Twiggy bio on Youtube. It was awesome, she is truly adorable. Aside from giving a wealth of new dress ideas and an insatiable urge to find Ken Russell's The Boyfriend it also gave me the strongest every desire to chop off my hair!
Right now my hair is super long (for me) since I've been growing it out for the wedding--and also because I haven't had it this long since the first grade so i was curious. Lately though, it's driving me crazy and seeing Twiggy with her fabulous cut didn't help matters. However, curly hair like mine does not prescribe to super short (it becomes a fro) so, I guess I"m not cutting it. Yet.

Family pics
So, I have a cousin on Facebook (whom I didn't know about until last month) and this week he put up a bunch of old family pictures, including quite of few of my Grandmother (on my dad's side) Here she is with an adorable flapper haircut. E was annoyed because when she started growing her hair out, she wanted it to be smooth and cute like that. Genetics went another way and let's just say it's a little fluffier...
I like this picture a lot to, with the pseudo-sailor outfit. I'm not quite sure, but it looks like she is holding a giant hat. I hope so, that would be one awesome hat!

Fairies
So, I spent a little time today re-reading about the Cottingley fairy scandal. You all know about this surely? Well, if not, here is what happened (briefly!) in 1917 two young cousins in England borrowed a camera and took pictures of themselves with fairies. Somehow the existence of these pics leaked out and the Spiritualist movement, which was big at the time, decided that they proved to the world that fairies were real. For 4 years there was a huge debate on the pictures (more were taken by then) and even Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was involved.
Anyway, in 1981 the cousins admitted that 4 of the 5 pics were fake, although the 5th one was real. And they insisted through the end of their lives that they really saw fairies in the garden. So, who knows, maybe they did. If nothing else, the pics are fun to look at...

So, Liberty ( I figured, why not make it a Liberty blog day?) does a lot of little competitions and this sweet little piece of applique' art won the "what do you do with your Liberty fabric" competition. Isn't it sweet?
And the best part is you can go to their Flickr site and see all the rest of the wonderful entries. Ooh, I feel some crafty coming on today!

holiday cycling
Speaking of cycling, this is what I picture J & I during our bike riding holidays. Except, with no kids. Definitely the feathery hat though....
Thanks again London Cycle Chic!

bikes
I've kind of wanted a bike for a while, so I could ride to work. When I told J he gave me a stern look and said that I would probably kill myself (I"m not the most graceful of athletes) Still, if I could have a cute bike like this and wear a cute dress....well, I'd take that chance!

cake toppers
So, for the most part, I've been fairly practical with the whole wedding planning thing. But for some reason I have been bitten by the desire of the cake topper. First it was this one. (which I still love)
Then I thought these would be perfect--after all, you can get them personalized to look like you..how cute is that?
..but in the end, the Fantasy Husband won. Won't it look lovely on our tiny raspberry cake?

Frank Textiles
Sometimes I forget how much I love Josef Frank's textiles. Then I see them and remember how I would like to cover walls and beds and curtains in them. Wouldn't they be lovely to be surrounded by?
