Urca

So, I just spent forever trying to find good pics/videos of the famed Urca Casino in Rio. Although it has been closed for years and years now, it was once the most glamorous casino and stage show in Brazil.
When e and I saw El Grupo last week there was some amazing footage (that I can't find, darn it) of the inside of the place--it was so cool, it looked like it came right out of a Fred and Ginger movie. Anyway, I only found 2 pics of the inside, so that will have to make do. And there is a gratuitous shot of Walt Disney and artist Mary Blair riding a bike in Rio. Mainly because I thought it was funny.

Where are all the glamorous nightclubs nowadays? I know there used to be some in KC. Sigh. I'm going to go pretend that I'm sambaa-ing in Rio now..who wants to join me?
