Hello! We've got a fun project for you today, a ruffled Liberty print clutch!
What you need:
2/3 Liberty of London material
1/3 fabric for lining/outer bag
1/3 medium weight fusible interfacing
1 shank button
Cut out 6 strips of Liberty 4 1/2" x 54"
Cut 4 pieces 9 x 11 1/2 for the bag. Two will be for the lining, two for the outer shell.
Cut 2 pieces 9 x 11 1/2 of interfacing.
Cut 1 piece 4.5 x 11 1/2 for liner pocket.
Cut one piece of fabric for the buttonloop 4 x 1 1/2
Start with your strips of fabric. Using a 1/4 inch seam allowance stitch around the two short and one long side of the fabric strips. On the fourth side sew a gathering stitch the length of the fabric. Gather your ruffles to 11 1/2"/ Do this for all 6 strips of fabric.

Pin the ruffles to the outer shell pieces. Start at the top matching raw edges. (see picture)

Place the outer shell fabric right sides together and stitch (1/2" seam allowance) around three sides. (2 short sides, one long) You might need to pin the ruffles out of the way, so they don't get caught in the side seams.
Take your loophole fabric and fold it in half. Press. Open the fabric and match raw edges into the crease in the middle. Press. Fold the fabric lengthwise along that crease. Press, pin and stitch.
Matching raw edges place the button loophole on the back side of the outer bag. Stitch. (See Picture)

Place your pocket on the right side of your lining materials, matching raw edges. (see picture)

With right sides together, stitch lining.
Place the outer bag right side out inside of the lining, wrong side out. (Right sides facing each other) stitch around the top (1/2" seam allowance) leaving a 1 1/2" opening. Pull the bag right side out through that opening.
Your bag is almost complete! Pin shut the opening at the top of the bag, where you pulled it through and stitch all around the top of the bag with a 1/2" seam allowance.
Hand stitch a button on the opposite side of the loophole and you are done!
