How long have I been meaning to make the Kitty Tunnel project in Amy Butler's In Stitches. Oh, I don't know, years I guess. My cat is both a tunnel-er as well as a lover of cozy blankets, so I felt like this would be a nice New Year's treat for her.
I decided to make it out of our new Alexander Henry Copenhagen material and white fleece for the inside. The pattern was well written and I finished the project really quickly. It's so nice to make a project that can be done in less than two hours, you start, you finish, you're satisfied.
So I took the tunnel home and presented it to Marla, who in the way of all cats, looked at me like I was insane and walked away. The following picks represent an entire evening of cajoling, bribing with treats, trying to explain that I needed blog picks, and begging her to get in the tunnel.
Here she is, kind of interested but not convinced.
I'm in the tunnel here, she's doesn't care.
So, I brought out the big guns, in the form of a giant bag of catnip.
Success!
Will she ever get it in again? Who knows. If you've got a cat who likes to burrow and be cozy I would recommend the kitty tunnel project. I'm sure your cat will be more grateful than mine.

that is really great...you in the tunnel has made my day!
Cats are like children. They really are: they're only interested if you act like you don't care if they're interested or not. ;-)
I love the kitty tunnel - so cute!
She probably sleeps in it all day and then makes sure to be out of it when she hears my car. Oh cats, always so contrary.
haHA! I love it!
